Lisa Bastoni: Guestbook

Ed

August 28, 2008

Lisa,

I have been a fan for a while having seen you at Cheney Hall in CT and buying Gather Round. I stopped by the site today to see if you are playing out in CT soon. Sadly not.
Hope you come around soon

I discovered your music a couple of years ago and have been hooked ever since. I also fancy myself a bit of a folk singer/songwriter (well, I used to before I had a baby and life took me in another direction). But it's still somewhere inside. Your writing style, voice and guitar playing is so honest and real. It really moves me. I love to sing along to your oh-so-lovely songs. I've been listening to Gather Round all week and the songs have been running through my head constantly. I've been singing them to my daughter and to myself as I go about my day. I'm thrilled to learn that you have another CD out (which I shall be purchasing through iTunes after I finish writing this).

Keep 'em coming, Ms. Bastoni. I'll have to check if you're coming to the Cleveland area. I'd love to see you live.

Peace,

Shannon

I've been listening to your CDs this morning and thought I'd see if you'd put out anything new. And there it is... Yay! Keep working!

Hello Lisa from a fellow Westport CT native relocated in eastern MA. I came across your music via Erik Balkey's web site. I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far. My wife and I had planned to come to the Perks show last Friday, but we had an emergency. We'll try for your Apr 2009 Perks show, or hopefully catch you somewhere else sooner! Take care! -Tony

Lisa--

I remember you very fondly from a few years ago, when our paths crossed on the crowded road of singer/songwriters. I was wondering recently what you're up to, and I read your December blog and felt moved and a little sad. You are such a lovely artist, and I do hope you won't give it up completely. Life isn't static, and you never know what's going to happen. I agree that the life of a musician is one of the flimsiest in the fickle, fickle, difficult world of music, but we do need you.

I'm still out here, plugging away, and I hope to see you soon.

The Mysterious Disappearance of Lisa Bastoni, Explained - December 13, 2007

"to let you know how much your (music) has meant to me. You've pulled me through some of my best times as well as some of my bleakest times"

Hello Lisa,
I only discovered you recently and I was charmed by your music and your singing. I wrote a few words about you on my blog to share the pleasure with my friends.
http://blueumbrella.hautetfort.com/archive/2007/11/30/femmes-je-vous-aime-8-lisa-lisa.html
Now I read that you're moving away from music, to live another life.
Your words haved moved me a lot.
I wish you all the happiness you deserve and maybe, one day, you'll come back to us with new songs, even better than the ones we know...
Best regards from France,
Pascal

"The Mysterious Disappearance of Lisa Bastoni, Explained - December 13, 2007"

One of the most insightful, touching and expressive things I have ever read from someone in the midst of the "singer-songwriter" experience. I am passing it around to friends. Thank you.

I saw you and Naomi at The Club Passim back in March. I bought one of your CDs First Sweetheart and really liked it! So I bought Small Time Big Town.....Problem is I was in Cambridge for a class and live in Michigan so now you have a fan base ;) in Michigan but I don't see us on your calendar. There is a couple of nice venues close by The ARK in Ann Arbor MI or The Trinity House in Livonia MI. So if you ever get out this way please stop and play.

I saw you in Harvard Square (cup in hand and cigarette) two years ago singing on the sidewalk with some magic melody that I could not "easily forget". So I purchased a CD and sat down listening to you for way longer than my companion expected. A year later we saw you in Concert at Club Passim for a benefit for a fellow folk singer. We really loved your music. I am in the Poconos now, and I hope some day you will make your way out to play somewhere local to me. Thanks for making great music and Happy Holidays! Great tree gift idea!

I found you on CD Baby while trying to figure out if country folk was the right place to put my CD. Great tunes, and I love the raw honest feeling of the new album. Good luck to you. :)

It was fun to see you again. I enjoyed your show at Johnny D's. I like your songwriting. You and Naomi work great together but I wonder about your name? It just sounds too depressing for what you're doing. You offer one of the greatest antidotes to depression I know. If you can write such thoughtful words I'll bet you can come up with a better name for your collaboration. I hope to see you again soon.

Hope things are going well for you. I agree with you that a New England misty spring can be quite enchanting. I was in Hingham Ma this spring and commented "how sweet it is" to see the NE landscape through the mist of a spring drizzle. Florida is nice but lacks charm

Good Luck, please stay in touch
